I hate to say it, but by the time you "know something's wrong" it's already too late....it's up to people to keep aware of subtle changes in their communities. They aren't going to "all of a sudden" implement their FMC right out in the open within weeks...it's a slow burn, which is the most deadly kind of take over (and the most successful for them).
Most local people affected in East and South Bristol get that something is very wrong, that the 'consultations' are a sham, and that the schemes not only make no sense and are discriminatory but pit people against one another in these so-called 'liveable' neighbourhoods. But they massively struggle to understand that this is not just Green loonies, or a city council gone rogue. Many think the local 'mayoral combined authority' (WECA) hasn't understood how out of order the city council is and it is just a case of explaining it to Helen Godwin, Mayor of WECA (are we supposed to subconsciously link her with Godwin Earl of Wessex?) and she will withdraw funding and scrap the schemes. But the 'active travel' religion is enshrined in all local transport plans, in language that simply regurgitates central government documents - Tory, Labour, Green, Lib Dem, whatever. Some look to Reform to save them... People can't seem to come to grips with the fact that politicians lie as a default setting.
Your piece is great, Iain. We will be able to give it to anyone here who still doubts what is going on and naively believes the council wants to make our lives happier, healthier and safer. Though I believe those most vocally in support of the schemes are mostly actors and people working on behalf of the agendas themselves.
The dependence o technology I abhor. I would like to dispense with it totally as it is the tool of 'their' entrainment techniques and our enslavement along with the destruction of the Earth. I am older now and try to reduce my use of it by asking for paper billing from utilities, writing to them and asking for acknowledgement. I have left Substack, and now Youtube demands I sign in to comment or like. Digital frees the corporations from any accountability. I want to talk to human beings and look in their eyes and feel their biofield when I deal with them. Is it too late to refuse having the phone and computer as central to our existence? Solutions on a postcard please.

When your loved ones have to go into state-funded care and local authorities want them moved miles from the nearest family member, making it difficult or costly to visit, try mentioning 15-minute cities. It’s amazing how these councils all of a sudden have never heard of them.
What a scary dystopian future they have planned for the useless eaters? So grateful that I live deep in the countryside, far away from the regime’s totalitarian tentacles.
